This English typecase configuration is that shown in Ullmer: Revised Illustrated List of New Machinery and Materials (1902). It is actually a double double case, and is the same as Miller & Richard's Double Double Case of 1897, apart from the en and em boxes being divided horizontally rather than vertically. The case has two bays, each for a complete jobbing fount, and has 53 lower case and 28 upper case boxes in each bay. Another version of a Double Double is Caslon's one, which only has three rows for the upper case, and has one extra lower case box.
