Modello Siciliano

This Italian case is the Sicilian model shown by Gallavrini: Tipocomposizione (1966) as part of a course of instruction published by Associazione Culturale Progresso Grafico, Torino. It has 126 boxes, 76 in the upper and 50 in the lower section. By contrast, a normal English upper has 98 boxes, and a lower has 53 boxes (54 in U.S.). The normal Double has 49 upper plus 53 lower, ie 102 boxes.

Note that the central partition is offset to the right, and the upper bay has four rows, with eight boxes on the left and seven on the right. Many of these boxes are further subdivided. Gallavrini shows another Rossi case with an offset partition, though with the smaller bay on the left, and with four rows of nineteen boxes. He also shows three other cases, Romano with four rows of fourteen boxes, Veneto with four rows of sixteen boxes, and Napoletano with four rows of fifteen boxes, all with a central partition.
