This (possibly) Austrian typecase lay is shown in Niel, Satztechnisches Taschen-Lexikon, 1925 (Wien). It makes use of a case intended for small caps, but leaves those boxes empty (as compared with Bauer's lay of 1917). Niel does also show a Kapitälchen lay which includes the small caps (and has eight extra boxes). Note that in the diagram, ¦ represents a dagger, and -- an em dash. Niel leaves the spacing boxes empty, but he does show spacing in his Kapitälchen lay. The empty case configuration is Antiqua, which has 14 fewer boxes than Bauer's case.
