This U.S. configuration is shown in Palmer & Rey's Specimen Book of 1892, and American Type Founders Specimen of Wood Type and Catalogue of Printers Wood Goods and Materials (1893) and their Blue Book (1895). There is a similar case, but with a central partition, shown as the Hamilton Model 2785 in American Type Founders: American Line Type Book (1906), and Hamilton Manufacturing Co: Modern Printing Office Furniture, Catalog 15 (1922) and American Type Founders: Catalogue (1923). There is also a B.B.& S. version, which has 7, rather than 6, boxes in each row.
