This English typecase layout is shown by Adana in Printing Machines and Type Sundries for the Small Printer 1934 as one of their new wooden Junior type cases. The case is 11⅜ x 7¾ inches and fits in Adana's own small cabinet. It has 44 boxes and is intended to be a more economical size for small founts of type. The ([ box also contains )] and the fi ff box also contains fl, ffi and ffl. The XZ box also contains Q and Æ also contains Œ. Note that Adana have J and U in alphabetic order, unlike the traditional position of J U at the end of the alphabet. Because there are few in the fount, Q X and Z all fit in the same box, as do K and J. The quads boxes can be used for miscellaneous characters.

There is an alternative style of case for a complete fount, and also an alternative arrangement where two cases are combined for the one fount. The empty cases are shown as Junior Cases.
