This Italian typecase configuration matches that of two cases seen in a shop window near the Rialto Bridge in Venice in February 1999. Sadly, the cases were not being used for storing type! The case is almost the same as many Dutch and Belgian cases, with six rows of seven boxes per bay, for example the Bovenkast of Ronner (1915) or the Plantin Upper of Gaskell.

The small boxes in the top left of the case were marked as being used to hold the numerals.
