Empty Two Third Improved Job Case

This U.S. two-third size typecase configuration is that of American Type Founders: American Line Type Book (1906) and Barnhart Bros & Spindler: Book of Type Specimens No.9 (1907) and Hamilton Manufacturing Company: Modern Cabinets, Furniture and Materials for Printers, Catalog No.14 (c.1907). Unlike the slightly earlier version shown by Palmer & Rey, et al., the bottom row has four small boxes, similar to a full-size lower case. The full-size Job case is Improved Job.

Note that the case shown above should have all the boxes in the top bays the same size.

The Two Third California is the same configuration as the Two Third Improved, except with 2 rather than 4 rows of caps boxes.
