This English typecase configuration matches the Six Fount Case in Miller & Richard's Price List (1873) reprinted by Bloomfield (1974), and Specimens of Book Newspaper Jobbing and Ornamental Types (1894), and Catalogue and Price List of Printing Material (1897), and Printing Machinery & Material (1910), and Specimens of Modern, Old Stye and Ornamental Type cast on Point Bodies (1912), and Printing Type Specimens (1927). It is also in Southward: Practical Printing (1882, and again in 1887), and in Harrild: Illustrated Catalogue of Printing Lithographic & Binding Machinery & Materials (1889), and Caslon: Specimen of Printing Types (1897) and Printing Types and Catalogue of Materials (1925) and in Ullmer: Revised Illustrated Price List of New Machinery and Materials (1902), and Jacobi: Printing (6th ed 1919) although Jacobi calls it a Treble case. The case has 168 boxes in total, but as Southward remarks, is not very suitable for founts with figures or points.
