This Dutch typecase configuration matches the No.2 Onderkas of the Nederduitsche Letterkassen of Zweijgardt: De Boekdrukkerij (1822) edited by Janssen & Bouman, Enschede/Grafisch Studie-Centrum (1986), and the Onderkas shown by van Cleef: Handboek ter Beoefening der Boekdrukkunst in Nederland (1844), and van der Veen: De Verbeterde Nederlandsche Letterkast (1852) and the lower case shown by Ronner: Van leerling tot zetter (1915) as illustrated in Post van der Molen & Rijkse: Wat baard den Druck, Niet al Geluk! (1994). It is the same as Onderkas No.1 apart from a re-arrangement of divisions in the top lefthand boxes.

The companion upper case is the Bovenkast of Ronner or the Bovenkas No.2 of Zweijgardt and the lower case lay is Onderkast.
