This typecase configuration matches the Bas de Casse d'Écriture of Lefevre: Guide Practique du Compositeur d'Imprimerie 1880, and is used for the script face called l'Anglaise. The case is a considerable change from the upper case of e.g. Fertel, which has six rows, as opposed to the usual seven rows of: Moxon et al, but here in the Script case it has effectively eight rows. It has 10+10 boxes in each row, unlike the usual 7+7, and also the bottom row has six boxes subdivided. The case totals 156 boxes because of all the extra ligatures etc, needed for the script face, whilst the companion Upper case has only 60 boxes.

The type lay is Bas de Casse and the companion upper lay is Haut de Casse.
