This U.S. lay is that in Orville Wood, Theory and Practice of Printing, 1917. For the most part it is the same as De Vinne 1904, ATF 1907, Hamilton 1907, et.al. except that the left hand top row differs, as ; and : swap with 4em and 5em spacing, and ct replaces fl, which is in the upper case. The News Cap is the companion upper lay, and is also where ffl is. The empty case configuration is MacKellar's US Lower.
