The layout is that given in Ronner: Van leerling tot zetter (1915) as illustrated by Post van der Molen & Rijkse: Wat baard den Druk, Niet al Geluk! (1994). The equivalent Lower case is Onderkast. There is an alternative lay, not shown by Ronner, that omits small capitals, and replaces them with accents such as ö Á ç Ç etc. The numerals move to the two top right rows, and with ? replacing !, the bottom right row of 1 to 7 is replaced with ffi ffl fb fh |k |t ! (where | represents long s) and the row of 8 to - is replaced with - ff fi fl ) ; .

The boxes with A, etc are small caps. The box with ¦ is really a single dagger. The empty case layout is Bovenkast. The case dimensions are 325/8 x 13 inches (approx 83 x 33 cms).

Note than unlike the UK/US Upper case, the Dutch case has only six rows of boxes, but the top row has 21 boxes, the 2nd row has 25 boxes, the 3rd row has 16 boxes, the 4th row has 15 boxes, and only the 5th and 6th rows are like the UK/US case with 14 boxes.
